Tucson International Airport is going all artsy on us.
We're not talking gallery space for visual arts - they do that already, and we are most grateful for the feast our eyes enjoy as we rush through trying to find our luggage.
No, what they're gonna do now is performing arts.
Jugglers. Dancers. Singers. Hey, even mimes. Whatever might come their way. And they'd like performing artists to come their way: If you are a member of a choral group, or a soloist, or have an art you can perform, you just may have a paying gig waiting for you at the airport.
"The intent is to have entertainment for the passengers," said Vicki Matthews, who is coordinating the whole shebang for the TIA. "It's pretty broad."
And they're looking to start soon. Nothing like a little art to sooth the weary holiday travelers' souls.
