Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) has signed an agreement with Alteon Training, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA), to provide flight training for airlines on seven aircraft types at Northwest's World Headquarters at Eagan, Minnesota.
The airline said that, as part of the agreement, Northwest Airlines and Alteon will place a Boeing 787 full flight simulator and other 787 training equipment at NWA's training centre by April 2008. Alteon will have exclusive rights to market excess simulator training time to all 787 operators and provide customers with additional training services at Northwest's training centre.
Alteon will also use its proprietary courseware and course materials, computer-based training, instructors and administration to provide training to airlines throughout the world on the Boeing 747-400, 747-200, 757 and DC9 aircraft types, as well as the Airbus A320 and A330.
