A gas leak near London's Heathrow airport halted flights earlier today (27 June).

The British Airport Authority (BAA) said flights to and from the airport have resumed after being halted due to a gas leak at a construction site near the southern runway. Operations on the runway were temporarily halted, the BBC reported.

The BAA also issued a warning that travellers may need to allow extra time for the travel to the airport as an exclusion zone has been set up in the Hatton Cross area due to the leak. The Piccadilly Line is reportedly operating normally but not stopping at Hatton Cross.
