Horizon Air is to increase service in several markets this autumn by adding more flights or replacing smaller aircraft.
The carrier said that it will provide service with a combination of Q400 turboprops, CRJ-700 jets and Q200 turboprops.
From 9 September Horizon will add a fourth daily Q200 flight between Eugene and Portland. Additionally, the current four Q200 flights and one Q400 flight between Eugene and Seattle will change to four daily Q400 flights. This represents a 60% increase in available seats.
From Klamath Falls a fourth daily direct Q200 flight to/from Portland will be added from 9 September, and on the same date in North Bend/Coos Bay a fourth daily direct Q200 flight to/from Portland will be added.
For Pasco a Q400 flight will replace a Q200 flight, resulting in a total of four Q200 and three Q400 flights a day to/from Seattle. This represents an 11% capacity increase. For Wenatchee a fifth daily direct Q200 flight to/from Seattle will be added.
The airline said that, effective from 23 September, two Q200 flights between Seattle and Redmond/Bend will be replaced by two Q400 flights, resulting in a total of four Q400 flights and one Q200 flight per day. This represents a 40% increase in available seats.
From 28 October a third daily CRJ-700 flight between Los Angeles and Portland will be added. This is in addition to four daily flights operated in the market by Horizon Air's sister company, Alaska Airlines. A third daily Q400 flight from Los Angeles to Santa Rosa will also be added. For Portland a new direct Q400 service to Santa Rosa will be added once daily from 28 October.
