Thai Airways and Airbus officials have said that an Airbus A380 scraped the tip of a wing at Bangkok's international airport on 1 September.
The aircraft was reportedly preparing for a demonstration flight at the time of the incident. According to The Associated Press, the aircraft was taxiing with journalists and VIP guests on board when the incident happened and the planned flight to Chiang Mai was delayed by just over three hours.
The A380 is on a demonstration tour in Asia and was set to also visit Vietnam, Hong Kong and South Korea.
The aircraft arrived in Hong Kong on 3 September.
