New San Francisco-Las Vegas Flights Celebrated in True Vegas Style, with Showgirls, Celebs and a Wedding Performed by Sir Richard Branson at 35,000 ft.
SAN FRANCISCO , Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin America, America's newest airline, today launched service between its home base of San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS). Virgin America kicks off three daily flights between Fog City and the Strip, with a party and inaugural flight, showgirls from La Reve, Carmen Electra, World Series of Poker Champ Jamie Gold , Kyla Ebbert (who was famously removed from another airline's flight because of an "inappropriate" outfit) and an in-flight wedding performed by Sir Richard Branson .

With 25 movies on demand, onboard instant messaging, videogames, 3,000 MP3 tracks and a host of other features that add up to a totally different flying experience, Virgin America is also offering attractive fares: $44* one-way San Francisco-Las Vegas fares in the Main Cabin and $149* one-way in First Class. This means travelers can fly to Vegas in high style and still save their money for the blackjack tables. With the addition of Las Vegas , Virgin America now serves five cities: San Francisco , New York, Los Angeles , Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas . Virgin America will also offer connections beginning today from both New York and Washington, D.C. to Las Vegas . On November 4 , Virgin America will add two more daily roundtrips to Vegas from San Francisco for a total of five flights a day.
Inaugural festivities will begin at the departure gate at SFO, where Mr. Reid will be joined by Virgin Group Founder and Chairman, Sir Richard Branson , as they welcome famous guests and Virgin America friends on board the first flight to Vegas. Later that day, Penn & Teller will host a dare-devil "Virgin America Takes Vegas" stunt at the Palms, where Branson will "drop-in" with his usual derring-do. The fun will continue that evening with a party at the Wynn Resort, which will feature the cast of Showtime's hit series "Dexter" and a celebrity poker game hosted by Jamie Gold with all proceeds going to the winner's charity of choice.
