Cincinnati No Longer Most Expensive Airport

July 30, 2009

HEBRON, Ky. --

For the first time in years, Cincinnati's airport is not the most expensive in the country.

But the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is still the second-most expensive.

The average round-trip flight out of the airport is $446, while the airport in Huntsville, Ala., took over the top spot with an average flight cost of $505.

Fares were down locally, where the average departure cost travelers $554 a year ago -- a drop of almost 17 percent

Prices could fall even further at the Hebron, Ky., airport, where Delta Air Lines launched a sale on fall travel destinations.

Travelers have until Aug. 14 to book domestic flights at the lower rate, and international flights must be booked by Aug. 3.
