JACKSON, Miss. --

A power outage Thursday morning left 1,025 customers, including the Jackson-Evers International Airport, without power.

The outage happened around 5:45 a.m., according to Entergy Spokesperson Mara Hartmann. Hartmann told 16 WAPT News that Entergy crews found smoke coming from a manhole, which led them to a bad underground cable. Hartmann also said that crews found a limb that fell on a line, which they removed.

The outage caused a halt to all flights to and from the Jackson-Evers International Airport. By 8 a.m., all of the passengers were allowed to board their flights.

The outage also caused one traffic light to go out at the intersection of Fox Hall Road and Highway 80. Power has since been restored.
