NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Secretary of the United States Departments of Transportation and Commerce and Hill & Knowlton Vice Chairman Norman Y. Mineta will be the featured guest at a three-day celebration of the grand re-opening of the Mineta San Jose International Airport this weekend.
The celebration marks the completion of the first phase of a nearly $2 billion capital improvement project. Mineta will participate in a number of events at the airport including a large public open house at the new terminals on Saturday. The city of San Jose named the airport after Mineta, a native of the community, in 2002.

Mineta joined Hill & Knowlton in July 2006, after more than 40 years of public service. He is vice chairman of the global communication consultancy and works from the firm's office in Washington, DC. His client work spans the globe and he is sought after for his extensive experience with local, state, national and international issues.
