Computer Glitch Delays Continental/United Flights

HOUSTON --

A computer outage delayed several Continental/United flights on Wednesday.

Investigators told Local 2 the glitch was fixed around 9:30 p.m.

Planes littered the tarmac and runways when the computer problem first happened around 7 p.m.

Authorities with the Federal Aviation Administration said the issue was an internal problem with Continental.

Continental Airlines released this statement:

"Around 7 p.m. tonight, a computer outage temporarily interrupted Continental operations, affecting approximately 40 flight departures. Our technology team resolved the issue and flights resumed at 9:10 p.m. (CST). We are re-accommodating affected passengers."
