Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines expected to offer Falls flights

Oct. 28--NIAGARA FALLS -- Another airline could soon be setting up shop inside Niagara Falls International Airport.

Representatives from the low-cost carrier, Spirit Airlines, will be joining officials from the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority for a press conference today at the Falls facility.

During the 1 p.m. press conference, Spirit Airlines representatives are expected to announce the next phase of their company's expansion, the addition of services in Niagara County.

Spirit, headquartered in South Florida, bills itself as an ultra low cost carrier and provides service in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The company operates an all Airbus fleet and offers more than 150 daily flights to 40 destinations and offers customers the option of paying only for features they value without subsidizing the choices of others, according to company literature.
