Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air report improved load factors for January
Alaska Airlines recorded a 15.8% increase in traffic on a 12.4% increase in capacity for the month, resulting in a record load factor for January of 80.0%, up from 77.7% in January last year.
Horizon Air's traffic fell by 0.9% on a 5.3% reduction in capacity compared to January 2010. This resulted in the load factor rising to 72.0%, from 68.8% in the same month a year ago.
Passenger numbers for Alaska Airlines during January showed a year-on-year increase of 11.1% to approximately 1,315,000, while Horizon Air saw its passenger numbers fall 2.9% to around 538,000.
