The projects, which will improve the International Arrivals Building (IAB), have an estimated total budget of USD2m. The work is due to be completed in time for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week in November 2011.

Under the first project the canopy on the Ewa side of the IAB will replaced at a cost of approximately USD400,000. This area is used for group tours and is expected to be a receiving area for APEC groups.

Another project will replace flooring on the baggage level of the IAB for approximately USD950,000.

With an estimated budget of USD650,000, the third project covers repair and maintenance work for the IAB including lighting for both levels, a new ceiling in the area prior to entering the IAB from the third level escalator, a new rock garden area, improvements to the walkway from Gates 24-25, adding two Flight Information Display boards and improved signage in the baggage claim.

The three projects are in the process of being announced for competitive sealed bids.
