Porter offers twice-weekly roundtrips on Thursdays and Sundays, beginning Sept. 8, until Nov. 20. Regular one-way fares start at $179, plus taxes. Connections are available in Toronto for Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor.
"We've doubled the winter/spring service to four flights weekly, which shows there is considerable interest in travelling conveniently and comfortably to Myrtle Beach from Canada. This response gives us confidence that adding fall flights will be equally popular," said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines.
The Myrtle Beach area offers over 100 championship golf courses suited to all abilities and budgets. In addition, almost 100 kilometres of wide sandy beaches await families and couples more inclined toward fun in the sun.
Porter operated in Myrtle Beach for the first time in the winter of 2010. The current winter/spring schedule continues until May 23.
"Porter Airlines' announcement that it will launch new fall service to the Myrtle Beach area is great news for our community and our Canadian visitors as we wrap up our 50th Canadian-American Days Festival. Over the past year, we have seen a record number of Canadian visitors coming to our beaches, and with the added support of fall service we look forward to continuing to foster growth in the coming year," said Brad Dean, President and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
"Toronto is a great market for the Myrtle Beach golf community and the success of Porter Airlines' non-stop service in the spring underscores that strength," said Bill Golden, president of Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. "The expansion of Porter's service into the fall season is a natural outgrowth of that success, and it will allow Toronto area golfers to book-end their season with a trip to Myrtle Beach, the Golf Capital of the World."
"We could not be more excited that Porter Airlines has decided to continue their service from Toronto during the fall season and look forward to welcoming visitors from Toronto and Canada again this fall," said Mike La Pier, Myrtle Beach International Airport director.
