Powerful winds, severe thunderstorms and some tornadoes swept the region from Tampa Bay to the Orlando area.

At an airport in Lakeland, a tent set up for an annual aviation expo came down. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says one person broke a hip but most of the other injuries were not serious.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue said a tractor-trailer was blown over on its side and fell on two vehicles. All of the people involved declined medical treatment.
