LANDMARK AVIATON–LAX OPENS CUSTOMS AND BORDER PATROL FACILITY

July 14, 2011

Landmark Aviation – LAX opened their much-anticipated Customs and Border Patrol facility on Friday, July 8, 2011, allowing international customers to be processed on site.

The 1,400 sq. ft., $775K facility was designed by Tammy Edmonds Designs out of Los Angeles, CA in conjunction with CSA Constructors, Landmark Aviation and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office. The CBP space consists of a holding cell, agriculture room, clearance space, computer room and office space.

“We are excited to provide international general aviation customers a choice when clearing customs at LAX,” General Manager Carrie Campbell explained. “If our increase in reservations is any indication, it seems our customers are eager for the opening, as well.”

The Customs office will be able to accommodate passenger needs and aircraft requirements on all aircraft up to a 767.

“We are very excited about the completion of this project,” President and CEO Dan Bucaro stated. “We will now be able to offer our customers a full-range of services, enabling us to better serve them, as well as provide an additional option to other international customers traveling into the LAX market”.
