ATA announces 7 percent rise in passenger revenue for U.S. carriers
This marks the 18th consecutive month of revenue growth.
ATA said that systemwide passenger traffic rose 0.3%, while the average price to fly one mile, also known as yield, showed an increase of nearly 7% for June 2011.
US domestic revenue rose by almost 6%, as passenger yields increased 6%, compared to the same period last year. Transatlantic revenue increased 5.6% from 2010, while transpacific revenue grew 5.5%. Latin American/Caribbean revenue rose 22%, as yields rose 18%.
