United Continental Holdings Announces 2011 Second Quarter Results

Travel Business Review - 25 July 2011 United Continental Holdings Inc. (NYSE: UAL), a US-based company that operates United Airlines and Continental Airlines, has announced its financial results for second-quarter of 2011, ended June 30.

The company has reported second-quarter 2011 net profit of USD538m or USD1.39 per diluted share. Consolidated passenger revenue has increased 10.1 percent in the second quarter of 2011, compared to the same period in 2010. Jeff Smisek, the company president and chief executive officer, said, 'Thanks to the hard work of my co-workers, who managed through tough weather issues and many integration changes during the quarter, we are making steady progress toward building the world's leading airline.
