HARKIN ANNOUNCES $500,000 FOR DUBUQUE REGIONAL AIRPORT

Sept. 28, 2011

The following information was released by Iowa Senator Tom Harkin:

Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today announced that the Dubuque Regional Airport will receive $500,000 through the Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP). The program assists smaller communities in enhancing air services that includes working to lower air fares. Harkin is a member of the Appropriations subcommittee that funds the FAA through the Department of Transportation (DOT) and cosponsored the creation of this program in the 1990s.

I am pleased the Dubuque Regional Airport has been granted this competitive award to improve the quality of air service in the area, said Harkin. Dependable air service is a significant factor for growing businesses as well as increasing tourism, which are particularly important for Dubuque.
