Brazil's 2014 World Cup Renovations Progressing
BRASILIA, Brazil- Construction and renovation work continues at breakneck speed as Brazil prepares to host the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics. Despite some reported setbacks, the Brazilian government remains adamant that most of the work will be wrapped up by next year. The country is currently building several brand new stadiums and is also renovating existing stadiums to host the world's largest futbol tournament in three years.

She pledged that the nine projects would be completed no later than December 2012, with the remaining three stadiums on pace to be ready a year later.
"The renovation and construction of the stadiums is proceeding at an adequate pace," Rousseff said during her weekly press conference.
