OJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines (RTS: AFLT) expects to take possession of its first two Boeing 787 Dreamliners in 2013, the company's general director, Vitaly Savelyev, told reporters on Friday.

"I think the two aircraft will be delivered in 2013," Savelyev said.

Savelyev had posted on his blog earlier that negotiations were being held for obtaining the Dreamliners ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

Aeroflot and Boeing signed on September 19, 2010 a memorandum on the creation of a joint working group for working through the possibility of getting the aircraft before the Games.

The two companies signed in 2007 an agreement on the purchase of twenty-two two Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Delivery was supposed to begin in 2014, but then Boeing said that the timetable had been pushed back and delivery would only begin in 2016.

Aeroflot is Russia's biggest air-carrier. It is based at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport and has more than one hundred aircraft. The company flew 11.3 million people in 2010.
