KARACHI, Sept. 23 -- The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)

convened Airport Mangers' Conference in order to enhance coordination

between the field units and Headquarters CAA.

A CAA statement here on Thursday said that special focus was

given to passenger facilitation and security in addition to the

ongoing development works and future planning.

Deputy Director General CAA Air Vice Marshal Junaid Ahmed

Siddiqui in his opening address welcomed the participants and briefed

the audience on CAA's endeavors to improve the facilities for

passengers.

He emphasized on the Airport Managers to follow the standards in

order to provide quality service to its users.

The DG CAA Air Marshal (Retd) Khalid Choudhry advised the Airport

Managers to put in their best efforts with honesty and dedication to

earn the appreciation of customers.

He also explained to all officers about his vision for CAA and

the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

He praised the dynamic role of CAA in advancing the cause of air

travel in Pakistan, the dedication of the staff and the tremendous

potential in the organization to do well.

The DG CAA specially emphasized the need for training computer

literacy and the use of Information Technology to move CAA performance

closer to industry leaders in this regard.

He also stressed the need for the vigilance and security.

Earlier Flight Lieutenant (Retd) Syed Asif Saeed, Guest of

Honour, briefed the participants on the requirement for special

passengers using airport services.

He gave suggestions to the CAA management for improving and

creating facilities for handicapped passengers travelling on wheel

chairs.

The audience and the management appreciated the recommendations

of Flt. Lt. (Retd) Syed Asif Saeed and thanked him for his inputs

which everyone agreed would go a long way in creating customized

facilities for the special passengers.

Before the end of the Conference a session was also held

exclusively to review the arrangements and facilities for Hujjaj

travelling to Saudi Arabia this year.

DG CAA advised concerned Airport Managers to leave no stone

unturned in order to provide best services to travelling Hujjaj as it

is not only their official duty but also a religious obligation.
