American Airlines reports February passenger traffic up 2.2%

As a result the February load factor dropped 0.7 percentage points to 74.8%.

American Airlines' international traffic increased by 6.0% compared to February 2010 on a capacity increase of 8.5%. On domestic routes, traffic was virtually unchanged while capacity was 0.2% lower.

Passenger numbers rose by 0.3% to almost 6m passengers in February 2011.
