Delta To Acquire Boeing 737 Aircraft For Fleet
Delta Air Lines has announced an order for 100 Next-Generation 737-900ER aircraft, manufactured by Boeing.
The new aircraft order is worth $8.5 billion and is to replace some of the airline's older airplanes. The new Boeing 737-900ER airplanes will be able to carry around 180 passengers, and will have increased fuel efficiency. Ed Bastian, the airline president, said, 'The 737-900ER is the perfect airplane to replace the older, less efficient airplanes in our single-aisle fleet. Reliability and fuel efficiency are direct contributors to our financial performance. The 737-900ER will provide us a reliable airplane with the lowest fuel burn in our domestic fleet.'
