Increasingly airlines and airports are looking to digital products and solutions to address the challenges that growing demand is facing them with. Semmco, a British engineering company that designs and manufactures a wide range of ground support equipment (GSE), will be showcasing its commitment to forward thinking, digitally capable products at inter airport Europe Oct. 8-11 October at the Munich Trade Fair Centre, Germany. Semmco will demonstrate its extensive array of aviation maintenance solutions that are used by a global network of aviation clients including Delta, Air Canada, JetBlue, Virgin and British Airways at their outdoor stand G26 situated in the British Pavilion.

This year digitalisation is a key theme of inter airport, as exhibition director Ulika Tosner explains; “Inter Airport Europe always reflects the developments and challenges that airports worldwide are facing. The airport industry is currently undergoing a digital change. Airport owners and managers across the globe are searching for new technologies that will allow them to cope with growing passenger numbers, and growing traffic volumes in general. In order to ensure a smooth operation of the airport despite this growing traffic, digital systems are used more frequently.”

Semmco’s range of ground support equipment is designed by engineers, for engineers, and has been created to prioritize safety and reduce the burden of heavy day-to-day maintenance tasks. A number of Semmco products feature digital capabilities that help to increase efficiency and accuracy, including the SMART Charge digital tire inflator and SMART Check digital tire gauge. Both feature a backlit digital display that allows for accurate and efficient readings at a glance, even in low lighting conditions. The Nitrogen Digital Solar Three cylinder demountable trolley features a digital control panel, and the solar powered readout allows users to set an inflation limit that will alert users once that limit is reached. Also on stand at the event will be Variable Height UCAS Access Platforms, Aircraft Wheel and Brake Changer, Universal Landing Gear Platform and Fixed and Variable Height Refueling Steps.
