Brief: Baggage Handlers Vote for 24-Hour Strike

Airport baggage handlers and ground staff at Jersey Airport are prepared to strike next week over an ongoing pay dispute.

According to a report from the Jersey Evening Post, Unite the Union have confirmed that Swissport employees had "overwhelmingly voted in favor of industrial action" in a ballot last month.

A total of 37 Swissport employees will strike on Saturday, Sept. 24, which could cause travel disruption. Further strikes have not been ruled out unless Swissport management make an improved pay offer.
