The new contract with Menzies Aviation will see Smarter Asset Management’s Gen3 Telematics solution rolled out to airports globally, providing both local and central visibility and control of both powered and non-powered assets.

Following a management re-organization, significant investment and the signing of a global contract with the one of the largest aviation services providers in the world, telematics specialist Smart Asset Manager has re-branded as Smarter Asset Management and appointed Paul Holmes as the new managing director.

Commenting on the changes, Holmes said, "We have proved that both vehicle fleets and site-based operators value the attention to detail and level of service provided by this business and our SAM Gen3 system. This re-brand respects our background and looks forward to future growth and development."

The new contract with Menzies Aviation was awarded after more than 12 months of robust testing in the UK and will see Smarter Asset Management’s Gen3 Telematics solution rolled out to airports globally, providing both local and central visibility and control of both powered and non-powered assets. Operational staff access a dynamic user interface that gives them an up-to the minute picture of the position of assets around the airport campus, taking into account whether they are idle, operational or undergoing maintenance. The solution has already facilitated the streamlining of Menzies’ leased asset portfolio, immediately realizing substantial cost and operational benefits.

Steve Rick, Menzies Aviation’s senior vice president of systems and transformation said, “The capabilities we have developed with SAM in their telemetry platform has unlocked tremendous value in our business, working closely with the SAM team we believe we have genuinely selected a premium supply partner with a technology platform that delivers results fast helping us to deliver our excellence manifesto to become the undisputed premium brand in the aviation sector.”

For Smarter Asset Management, Holmes said, "We want to thank Menzies for giving SAM this great opportunity, and I would like to thank the dedicated SAM development team led by Stewart Hall for all their hard work in developing our Gen3 product to provide Menzies with the airport-specific system that has allowed us to win this business. Our fleet customers will also benefit from what we have learnt about the way asset usage is reported in airport operations."

SAM Gen3 delivers detailed, clearly presented and actionable information that Menzies will use to make rapid, focused decisions to optimize asset usage and support excellence throughout their global network.
