Dallas-based Concentric LLC, which says it’s the nation’s largest forklift and critical power organization, has acquired Weldex Sales, the largest battery provider in Virginia.

Concentric, which supplies DC power systems for electric forklifts, automated guided vehicles and airline ground support equipment, said the acquisition strengthens its footprint in Virginia, according to the announcement.

It will also help Concentric expand into innovative solutions like lithium and hybrid power systems to gain new customers, the company said.

“For more than three decades, Weldex Sales has earned a reputation throughout Virginia as the place to turn to for any forklift power problem,” Concentric president John Shea said. “We admire this heritage of bringing clients solutions that also emphasize sustainability and safety metrics.”

This is the company’s fourth acquisition of 2021, helping it achieve record growth for the year, Shea said.

“These acquisitions have expanded our operations across Virginia, Florida, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California while furthering our mission to help material handling and critical power clients achieve savings, sustainability, safety and consistency for their forklift and backup power systems,” he said.

Concentric has locations across the U.S., including in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and McAllen.

The company says it has spent decades collecting data on forklifts and batteries. Now it can handle power and maintenance needs for different businesses so those businesses can focus on their core tasks. For example, Concentric helps Camden, N.J.-based Campbell Soup design and operate forklift and backup power systems.
