Ambulift is designed to transport passengers who require a high degree of medical care.

DENGE Airport Equipment, Istanbul, Turkey, won this year’s most innovative ramp product at inter airport Europe for its EAV4500  or “Ambulift.” As the name implies, the vehicle is designed to transport passengers who require a high degree of medical care.

The unit provides a minimum front service sill height of 1,300 mm and up to 5,800 mm. Previous DENGE models were built on commercial chassis and since automatic transmission was not available on locally sourced product, the company’s disabled truck was limited to manual transmission. The new award-winner not only comes with automatic transmission, but also user-friendly dashboard and control panels.

The van body can also carry either four wheelchairs, two stretchers or two wheelchairs with one stretcher, together with the attendants provided their own seats.

The driver’s cabin provides a large area for the operator, together with a wide sight with no blind spot blocking the operator. It is also equipped with a video monitoring system for the rear area.

The unit has a rear platform operating from ground level to van body level. The rear platform has safety doors and if these doors are not completely closed the platform will not elevate. Other safety switches are installed on the van body doors so if those switches are not engaged, the van body will also not elevate.
