Gazprom Neft Announces Long-term Financial Targets and Growth Strategy

Gazpromneft-Aero, the aviation fuel operator of Gazprom Neft, revealed its growth strategy and financial goals up until 2030 at the board of directors meeting of Gazprom Neft held on October 25.

The company announced its plans to expand its international network up to 350 airports and increase the retail sales of jet fuel up to 5.3 million tons a year, aiming to become one of the top ten leading companies in the global aviation fuel supply industry.

Gazpromneft-Aero is the market leader in the Russian retail aviation fuel industry and holds a 25% share of the market. In 2018, the company reported more than 2.7 million tons of “into the wing” jet fuel sales, with the total volume of jet fuel sales exceeding 3.7 million tons.

Over the last decade, Gazpromneft-Aero has established a wide distribution network that includes 66 sales units across airports in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, 46 of which are the company’s own fueling facilities. The total investment in the expansion and modernization of Gazpromneft-Aero distribution network from 2007 to 2018 reached 25.8 billion rubles.

To date, Gazpromneft-Aero’s overseas network is represented by 210 airports in more than 60 countries. The refueling of Russian and international carriers at airports worldwide is carried out in collaboration with leading local fuel suppliers. Today, Gazpromneft-Aero serves more than 190 airlines, including Russian aviation market leaders - Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Ural Airlines, Volga-Dnepr, as well as leading international carriers such as Lufthansa, Emirates, Air France, KLM.

Flight safety continues to be a priority for Gazprom Neft in the future development of the aviation fuel business. All the company’s refueling complexes are operated according to technical regulations which comply with strict Russian and international aviation fuel supply standards. Gazpromneft-Aero facilities have been awarded the highest ranking for quality by The International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Gazpromneft-Aero is one of the technological leaders of the international aviation fuel industry. The company successfully develops and implements unique digital services, such as smart contracts, which enable online transactions with airlines without the need for prepayments or bank guarantees, minimizing financial risks for participants in the transaction.
