Offices and staff rooms meeting the standards of new buildings have been created for 36 team energie employees at Hanger II of the airport.

Kiel, Sept. 2, 2019 -- team energie has moved into their new sales location at the Airport Kiel.

As of now, the regional delivery of mineral oil products (e.g. heating oil, diesel or eco-fuels) will be scheduled and managed in the north of Kiel. The previous office in Kiel-Wittland has been closed.

“We are very pleased that team energie opted for the Kiel Airport. The company settlement secures jobs in Kiel’s urban area and emphasizes the airport’s attractiveness. It is another important step on the way to the establishment of an Airpark,” Volker Prange, managing director at Kiel Airport (FLUGHAFEN KIEL GmbH) said.

Since the local referendum in May 2018, team energie has been the second successful company settlement at the airport, following the Northern Fire Station of the professional fire brigade. This means that within no more than one year 70 extra jobs could be created on site. A total of 150 employees work for 10 different companies located at the airport. The biggest employer is QinetiQ GmbH, a subcontractor of the German Bundeswehr.

Offices and staff rooms meeting the standards of new buildings have been created for 36 team energie employees at Hanger II of the airport. At the same time, an extra parking area for trucks was identified, remodeled and secured outside the aviation area. The airport company has invested an amount of about 350,000 Euro.

Ernst-Martin Radmer, Site Manager of team energie in Kiel said: “The Kiel Airport offers us the best conditions for a reliable supply to our customers. The new sales site has an ideal location and an excellent transport connection.”

Through the development of the Airpark, which is a commercial area of 70,000 m2 on the southern end of Boelckestraße, the airport offers companies the opportunity for future business expansion on site.

Prange said: “As soon as the current land-use plan will have been finalized, more high-quality commercial spaces will be created which offer most interesting perspectives to airport-related businesses and external companies alike.”

One property has already been permanently assigned to the new construction of the Fire Station North.
