Cryotech Deicing Technology is excited to announce it has achieved certification to both ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015, making it among the top 10% of companies certified to the revised standards.

Cryotech, located in Fort Madison, Iowa, was audited in October 2016 by BSI and successfully upgraded its quality management system to the newest version of ISO 9001, the worldwide quality standard. The new version of ISO 9001 requires more focus on leadership and risk-based thinking to ensure customer satisfaction. Cryotech maintains customer-focused core values to guide its business initiatives and encourages continuous improvement among its employees. Each Cryotech employee is constantly challenged to identify improvement opportunities, big and small, to address issues and increase customer satisfaction.

Following its ISO 9001:2015 certification, Cryotech went on to pursue its certification to ISO 14001:2015 in November 2016. ISO 14001 helps organizations develop an environmental management system that guides the organization’s activities to minimize its environmental impact. Maintaining an environmentally responsible manufacturing facility is a key objective for Cryotech. With ISO 14001, incorporating sound environmental practices into daily activities and across the facility will ensure Cryotech will meet this goal.

“Cryotech prides itself on being an industry leader focused on innovation and continual improvement,” explained Craig Starwalt, President and CEO of Cryotech Deicing Technology, “Obtaining certification to the latest ISO revisions, to ensure our internal procedures match this effort, was a natural step. I believe utilizing these proven management systems standards will enhance our business and allow us to better serve our customers.”

“The revised versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 require a renewed commitment by management to extend quality and environmentally-aware processes and procedures across the entire organization, from the organization’s overarching strategy through to all the production processes. Cryotech is to be commended on adopting the highest standards available that address quality and the environment,” stated Todd VanderVen, President, BSI Americas.

ISO 9001 is the world’s most widely recognized quality management standard and has been adopted by more the one million businesses. It outlines ways to achieve as well as benchmark consistent performance and service.

ISO 14001 is the international standard that helps organizations reduce their environmental impact and puts sustainability in the heart of the business. An effective environmental management system, as outlined by ISO 14001, can help an organization improve performance, reduce cost and cut waste without compromising the product or service.

The most recent versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 were published in 2015, and require a renewed focus by leadership to instill quality procedures and environmental awareness, facilitating a more integrated approach to enhancing an organization’s performance.
