Kenya’s first solar-powered cargo facility was unveiled by Swissport Kenya Limited at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
According to a report by the Star, the 104KWp solar PV project, which consists of a mounting system, a display of four three-phase grid tied inverters and 360 Canadian & JA 290 watt-peak polycrystalline modules, covers 832 square meters.
Quoting the the US department of Energy, the Star reports that buildings incorporating solar energy can use up to 70 percent less electricity than conventional systems.
