BAGFLOW allows airports to handle more bags in the same footprint, optimize resources and keep costs under control.

Veghel, Oct. 3, 2019 – Vanderlande is to present its latest innovations at this year’s inter airport Europe, which will be held on Oct. 8-11 at the Munich Trade Fair in Germany. In particular, the company will showcase its new end-to-end baggage logistics approach – BAGFLOW – a scalable and modular concept that seamlessly integrates the complete journey of a bag.

This year’s inter airport Europe will focus on the rising demand for digitization and automation, which are trends that offer significant opportunities for the aviation industry. At booth 1120, Hall B5 Vanderlande will demonstrate its response to the challenges facing the market, including BAGFLOW.

By establishing an integrated approach to the total bag process – from the bag drop right through to the aircraft – BAGFLOW guarantees success for airports, airlines and passengers. It allows airports to handle more bags in the same footprint, optimize resources and keep costs under control. In addition, it facilitates a ‘pull’ approach and integrates the complete baggage flow in one control system. The concept has been nominated for the prestigious inter airport Europe Excellence Awards in the interFUTURE Special Award category.

Visitors can also experience Vanderlande’s advanced passenger checkpoint solution in virtual reality. PAX CHECKPOINT has been designed to help airports respond to growing security requirements and deliver a pleasant passenger experience. A seamless system that combines a modular, state-of-the-art automated screening lane with remote screening (or centralised image processing), PAX CHECKPOINT allows agents to share the workload, counter the effect of traffic variation and significantly improves operational efficiency.

“The focus of this year’s inter airport Europe clearly indicates how relevant our ideas and solutions continue to be in this ever-changing industry,” says Vanderlande’s Board Member and Executive Vice President Airports Andrew Manship. “We’re excited to be a part of the ongoing discussion and to see how we can contribute to the ‘airport of the future’. By uniting the different stakeholders involved, we are confident that BAGFLOW will help airports to improve their overall baggage performance, while PAX CHECKPOINT is the ideal step towards enhancing the experience for all travellers.”
