Federal Grant To Help Fund Deicing Facility At Gerald Ford Airport

Containment plans will address public concerns about the accumulation of deicer chemicals in area waterways.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- A deicing containment facility planned at Gerald R. Ford International Airport is getting a boost from a federal grant.

The U.S. Department of Transportation is giving more than $7.2 million to the project, according to an announcement Wednesday from the offices of Senator Carl Levin and Senator Debbie Stabenow.
