Menzies Aviation has named Kim Yan as Vice President of its ground handling operations at the New Terminal One (NTO) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). His appointment follows Menzies’ recent award of one of two ground handling licenses for the new terminal, marking a strategic expansion into a new airport location for the company.

Beginning in 2026, Menzies will provide a full suite of above- and below-the-wing services at JFK, including ramp and baggage handling, cabin cleaning, passenger services, ticketing, and passenger assistance.

Yan brings more than three decades of experience in the North American aviation industry. A New York native, he began his career as a passenger services agent before advancing through operational and management roles that span frontline activity and strategic leadership. He joins Menzies following senior positions with Swissport and WFS, most recently serving as Vice President, New York Airports at Swissport.

In his new role, Yan will oversee the start-up and ongoing operations at NTO, with a focus on safety, operational performance, workplace culture, and financial discipline.

“Kim’s expertise in the North American market and his proven leadership in ground handling make him an ideal fit for our new operations at NTO,” said John Redmond, EVP Americas, Menzies Aviation. “His appointment underscores our commitment to delivering world-class service for our airline and airport partners at this important new terminal.”

“It’s an honor to join Menzies at such a pivotal moment for JFK,” Yan said. “Having spent my entire career in New York, I understand the significance of New Terminal One to the region and our customers. I look forward to building a safe, efficient, high-performing operation that reflects the best of Menzies.”

Menzies Aviation expects to create more than 500 new jobs through its agreement with NTO and will begin a local recruitment effort, supported by comprehensive training to uphold the highest standards of safety and security for its airline customers.
