Oman Airports Implementing New Baggage Policy

Passengers will no longer be permitted to check in round and irregular shaped luggage items wrapped in blankets, linen or tied with rope at the Muscat International, Salalah and Suhar airports.

In an effort to streamline the security process and offer additional safety, Oman airports are implementing new baggage rules.

According to a report from the Times of Oman, beginning Sept. 1, passengers will no longer be permitted to check in round and irregular shaped luggage items wrapped in blankets, linen or tied with rope at the Muscat International, Salalah and Suhar airports.

Citing the Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC), the report states, the change is applicable to all passengers, regardless of airline, cabin class or destination.
