San Antonio Airport Adds More Flights Ahead of Busy Summer Season
Apr. 4—Local travelers will have more options out of the San Antonio International Airport this summer as airlines add more nonstop flight for an expected busy season.
The airport said in a news release Tuesday that it expects an increase of up to 10% in seats leaving and entering compared to the summer of 2019, the year before the pandemic.

Here's a look at some of the expected changes:
* Delta Airlines will be relaunching daily nonstop flights to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and adding a third daily flight to Detroit starting May 8. A third flight will also be added to Minneapolis-St. Paul starting June 20.
* Sun Country Airlines will begin its seasonal service to Minneapolis-St. Paul and Cancun before Memorial Day. Passengers can fly to Cancun on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays through mid-August.
* Southwest Airlines will offer nonstop flights to Cancun starting June 3 and add a third daily flight to Baltimore/Washington on weekdays. It will also offer daily flights to Kansas City starting July 11.
* Spirit Airlines will be have daily flights to Los Angeles starting May 5.
