Water Line Issues Ground United Flights at George Bush Airport
Mar. 14—Water line issues grounded United Airlines' flights out of Houston's George Bush International Airport for about an hour early Tuesday morning, officials said.
Federal authorities around 6:30 a.m. issued a ground stop for United Airlines' flights out of the airport, according to an advisory from the Federal Aviation Administration. The ground stop order cited the reason as "other."
Officials with the federal agency referred questions about what caused the stop to airline administrators.
Water line issues at the airport forced the airline to halt departures for about an hour, according to a spokesperson for the airline.
Houston Airport System officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
As of around 8 a.m., 13 flights into and out of George Bush airport had been delayed, according to the flight tracking website, FlightTracker.
