Cargo Carrier Returns to Pittsburgh International Airport
Aug. 3—An international cargo carrier is returning to Pittsburgh International Airport for another stint.
Cathay Pacific Airways started twice-weekly flights between Hanoi, Vietnam, and Pittsburgh, with a stop at its cargo terminal in Hong Kong, on Monday. The service will run until the end of the year.
This is the second time around for the Hong Kong-based cargo airline. Cathay Pacific flew twice-weekly flights to and from Pittsburgh for three months last year, ending on Thanksgiving. For the new flights, it will use a Boeing 777-300ER passenger jet converted for cargo to haul garment industry goods.
Two other international carriers, India-based SpiceXpress and Qatar Airways, also are running routes to and from Pittsburgh.
