Airline Norwegian Plans to Cut Carbon Emissions by 45 Percent
Oslo (dpa) - The airline Norwegian has committed to cutting its carbon emissions by 45 per cent by 2030, compared to 2010 levels.
Norwegian plans to reach that level by renewing its fleet and using sustainable aviation fuels, the low-cost airline said in a statement published on Thursday.
Norwegian also said it would phase out non-recyclable plastic and recycle all single-use plastic products by 2023.
The commitments were aimed at conforming to the Paris climate agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, the Scandinavian company said.
