A flight arriving at Miami International Airport Thursday night was carrying an extra passenger — a stowaway, a man who was apparently hiding in the aircraft’s cargo hold, according to a posting on social media.

About 2 a.m. Friday, a Miami Beach man with the Twitter handle @Srt_lex posted video taken on the airport’s tarmac showing ground workers speaking to the man. The man appeared to be in good health. One image showed him, wearing bluejeans and a short-sleeved dark blue shirt, standing up while speaking to officials next to the jet.

“Came from Havana to Miami inside the planes belly where the bags go,” the Twitter posting said.

The aircraft was from Swift Air. According to online schedules, a Swift Air flight from Havana was to land at Miami’s airport shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday.

By telephone from Cuba, the father of the man found on the plane told WTVJ-Ch. 6 that his 36-year-old son is an airport worker who lives outside Havana and told no one of his plans to secretly fly to Miami.
