EasyJet Applies For Vital Post Brexit ‘Life Support’ Licence

Europe’s second largest scheduled international airline easyJet has confirmed that it has applied for an operating licence from the Austrian Government to protect its clearance to fly between European Union States.

As made clear in its annual report and company statement filings, this is to ensure that it will continue to enjoy fully licensed flying rights to operate between EU member states after the UK leaves the European Union – supposedly in 2019.

The significance of this move is huge, as easyJet flies to more of Europe’s top 100 routes than any other airline, as it also services 802 routes at 132 airports across 31 countries in total.
