Bomb attacks on Brussels' airport and subway network cost the airline around €5 million a day before its partial reopening on April 3. Those numbers didn't seem to deter talk of Lufthansa buying in.

Lufthansa's advisory board will meet April 27 to discuss a full take over of Brussels Airlines, sources close to the German airline told Reuters.

Lufthansa currently owns 45 percent of Brussels Airlines, which it bought for €65 million. Lufthansa retained the option to acquire the remaining 55 percent by 2018, with the total coming to €250 million after the possible take over, according to a report by Reuters.

Eurowings, a low-cost airline and part of the Lufthansa Group which began last year, would benefit from the take over, as Lufthansa is trying to expand.

"Lufthansa wants to build Eurowings, but it does not want to take on any restructuring risk," one of the sources told Reuters.

Owners of the Scandinavian carrier, SAS, are also said to be meeting with Lufthansa to discuss a stake, or possible partnership.

Both Lufthansa and SAS declined to comment, according to Reuters.
