Various groups of airport workers recently announced their plan for worldwide demonstrations set to take place at more than 40 airports in 13 countries next week in search of wage increases, union rights and workplace safety.
According to a recent press release, through the International Transport Workers' Federation and the UNI Global Union, airport workers are planning protests on Oct. 2 at airports including Los Angeles in the U.S., Charles De Gaulle in Paris, Schipol in Amsterdam, and Flughafen in Frankfurt.
Baggage handlers, security officers, cabin cleaners, janitors, wheelchair attendants, and other contracted airport workers will take part in the demonstrations.
