Frankfurt am Main/Düsseldorf, Jan. 27, 2023 - WISAG Aviation, one of the leading German full-service airport service providers, will be active in the field of ground handling services at Düsseldorf Airport from April 1. Since the announcement of the license decision at the end of December 2022 by the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, WISAG has been preparing intensively for its start at the largest airport in North Rhine-Westphalia. The collective agreement agreed with Ver.di ensures fair working conditions and attractive wages.
In December 2022, together with the Ver.di services trade union, WISAG, led by Michael Richter, negotiated a framework and wage agreement for WISAG Abfertigungs-Gesellschaft at Cologne/Bonn Airport and agreed to extend the scope of this agreement to the new WISAG location at to expand Düsseldorf Airport. This contract was signed this week.
"I am pleased that we were able to successfully conclude the quite controversial negotiations before Christmas and thus create a very good basis for recruiting personnel in Düsseldorf," said Richter.
"For all colleagues who start at WISAG at Düsseldorf Airport, we will apply this Cologne collective agreement," said Carmen Ruck, COO of WISAG Aviation.
Discussions with potential customer airlines are going well. WISAG has already signed a contract with Condor, the second largest volume customer in Düsseldorf.
“On this basis, we are now working at full speed in recruiting. We already have more than 100 applicants who are currently working at the airport and bring valuable experience and know-how with them. We now want to conclude employment contracts with them as quickly as possible that match their qualifications and offer attractive working conditions,” Ruck said.
Angela Stuhr, CFO of WISAG Aviation, adds: "Our goal is to establish WISAG Aviation as a strong and reliable process partner at Düsseldorf Airport in the long term and to give our employees attractive future prospects."
