MIASCOR Appeals Cebu Airport Contract Termination

Reports said airport operator GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation plans to terminate the services of MIASCOR in May since there is no signed contract between the two companies.

CEBU CITY – MIASCOR Ground Handling Corp. on Thursday said it is resorting to legal actions to protect 600 employees who might lose their jobs if the operator of the Mactan Cebu International Airport decides not to renew its contract with the company.

The company filed an injunction in Lapu-Lapu City compelling airport operator GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) to honor the Letter of Award and issue MIASCOR a license to perform ground handling operations at the Mactan Cebu International Airport, MIASCOR General Manager for Visayas and Mindanao Atty. Earl Versoza said in a statement.
