SAE International and Airports Council International World Sign MoU to Support Sustainable Aviation Industry Development and Growth

The MoU seeks to reinforce and build upon the common interest in collaboration to ensure development of appropriate standards needed to support the industry’s transition to alternative fuels and deployment of advanced air mobility operations at airports.

SAE International proudly announces a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airports Council International (ACI) World. This agreement focuses on supporting the sustainable development, growth and safety of the aviation industry. The MoU seeks to reinforce and build upon the common interest in collaboration to ensure the development of appropriate standards needed to support the industry’s transition to alternative fuels and deployment of advanced air mobility operations at airports.

Together, SAE and ACI World intend to collaborate on projects and activities of common interest including participating in each other’s working groups and committees. In particular, the development of industry standards through the SAE International standard making development process as related to Advanced Air Mobility and Alternative Sustainable Aviation Fuels as well as information, knowledge and expertise sharing to promote the development of the aviation ecosystem.

Additional activities include the cross-promotion of relevant activities, events or publications, to each other’s membership or relevant governance bodies as well as relevant documents, data and information.

ACI World Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said: “We are pleased to fortify ACI World’s partnership with SAE International through this MoU. As we prepare to welcome 19.3 billion passengers by 2041, ensuring the development of appropriate technical standards to support the industry transition to alternative fuels and the deployment of advanced air mobility operations at airports are of increasing importance.
