Million Air Joins the Island Life with Florida Keys Location

Million Air has acquired the former Marathon Jet Center at Marathon International Airport (KMTH), the company’s fourth FBO in Florida and 34th in the Million Air network.

ORLANDO, Fla. / October 17, 2022 / AVIATION NEWS – Million Air has acquired the former Marathon Jet Center at Marathon International Airport (KMTH), the company’s fourth FBO in Florida and 34th in the Million Air network. While the sale was finalized in January 2022, after months of transitioning, the location has undergone a full rebrand to Million Air Florida Keys.

The acquisition builds upon aviators’ preferred gateway to paradise in Marathon. While the FBO features the same benefits its key location has historically offered, these conveniences are now topped off with the Million Air care operators know they can trust, heightening the overall Caribbean experience.

“We’re excited to serve the aviation community as we approach the Keys’ travel season,” Gary Buchanan, executive vice president of Million Air, said. “We have the space, the fuel and a team that can’t wait to welcome our guests.”

Centrally located between Key Largo and Key West, the FBO provides easy access to all the islands of the archipelago and offers a less congested alternative to Key West International Airport, about 45 minutes away by car. The FBO is fully operational, with Million Air’s award-winning staff ready to offer guests a memorable experience, beginning with a staffed beverage cart that greets aircraft upon arrival. Refreshments are also available inside the coastal-style FBO, to be enjoyed indoors or out thanks to the building’s covered second-story veranda.

Currently wrapping up the facility design stage, Million Air will put its own stamp on the location with two phases of construction beginning in the spring of 2023. Phase one features a new 9,948-square-foot FBO featuring a full-service indoor/outdoor restaurant and park-like green roof, both open to FBO guests and the Marathon community. A new fuel farm facility rounds out phase one, expected to be completed in winter 2023.

Phase two includes two new hangars offering leasing opportunities of 40,000- and 24,500-square-feet, and a ramp and taxiway connector expansion providing 16 acres of ramp space, to be completed in the summer of 2024. Million Air Florida Keys’ ramp space will then trump the acreage at Key West International.
