CloudNine Signs with Centrex for Camarillo Hangar Development

May 6, 2019

RKR, Inc. brainchild of real estate developer Ron Rasak announces it has selected aviation property development firm Centrex to build the first CloudNine, a private hangar complex offering “luxury hangar enclaves for the discerning aircraft owner,” starting with its first location at Camarillo Airport (KCMA) in Camarillo, CA.

Portland, OR-based Centrex is no stranger to aviation hangar and facility development, having built over 2MM square feet of hangar, FBO and related aviation development in the western United States in the past 20 years alone. Says Ron Rasak of RKR: “The formula for a successful development project is straightforward- surround yourself with the best in the industry and the outcome will be a project that’s on time, on budget, and exceeds expectations. There’s only a handful of specialist aviation development firms in the country and Centrex is the clear leader in their field. We also strongly believe there’s a certain qualitative value that Centrex brings to the project- as both pilots and operators of business aircraft themselves.”

Jimmy Severson, President of Centrex echoes Rasak’s enthusiasm for the CloudNine project. Says Severson, “The CloudNine concept itself is as exciting as the opportunity to bring it fruition. That’s part of what is compelling about CloudNine for the Centrex team- Ron’s luxury private hangar campus is an example of the ‘right business model at the right time’ for the industry. We’re honored to build the first CloudNine and look forward to making Ron’s vision a reality in Camarillo and beyond.”

Centrex will break ground on CloudNine at Camarillo in late 2019, and deliver four private hangars of 25,000 square feet, each with up to 5,000 of attached Class A office, in late 2020. Each hangar will feature luxury amenities designed for the private hangar owner in mind, including attached garages, energy-efficient LED lighting, commercial grade kitchen, and an executive office and lounge with attached private bathroom and walk-in closets. Private lounges, white epoxy floors, flight department offices and fitness rooms are also standard.
